2. Legal Basis
This Privacy Policy is issued in compliance with Law 81 of March 26, 2019 on Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Panama (Ley 81 de Protección de Datos Personales) and its regulatory decrees. It applies to all personal data collected through this website, service contracts, quote requests, contact forms, and any other interaction with FME Group.
3. Data We Collect
We may collect the following categories of personal data:
- Identification data: full name, national ID or passport number, company name
- Contact data: email address, telephone number, physical address.
- Professional data: position, company, professional references.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, session duration (via cookies — see Cookie Policy).
- Financial data: billing information, bank account details (only when strictly necessary for service execution).
We do not collect sensitive personal data (health, religion, political opinions, biometrics) unless expressly required and separately consented to.

5. Data Retention
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the stated purpose. Contract-related data is retained for ten (10) years in compliance with Panamanian commercial and tax law. Data collected for marketing purposes is retained until withdrawal of consent. Website analytics data is retained for twenty-four (24) months
6. Data Sharing
FME Group does not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Data may be shared with:
- Service providers acting as data processors (IT infrastructure, email, accounting software) under data processing agreements ensuring equivalent protection.
- Public authorities when required by law or court order
- FME Group affiliated companies (IMSA — Ingeniería y Mantenimiento IM, S.A.) solely for the purposes of service delivery.
No data is transferred outside the Republic of Panama without appropriate safeguards unless required by law.
7. Your Rights
Under Law 81 of 2019, you have the right to:
- Access: request confirmation of whether we hold your data and obtain a copy.
- Rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure ('right to be forgotten'): request deletion of data when it is no longer necessary for the purpose collected.
- Opposition: object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Withdrawal of consent: at any time for consent-based processing, without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any right, send a written request to info@fmegroupsa.com with your full name, ID number, and the right you wish to exercise. We will respond within thirty (30) business days. You may also file a complaint with the Authority for Consumer and Competition Protection (ACODECO) of Panama.
8. Security
FME Group implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure, including encrypted communications, access controls, and periodic security reviews. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to data subjects, we will notify affected individuals and the competent authority within the timeframes required by Panamanian law.
9. Minors
Our services are directed exclusively at adults and corporate entities. We do not knowingly collect personal data from persons under eighteen (18) years of age. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be notified via a prominent notice on our website. The date of last update is shown at the top of this document.
